About Us
The Border Security Solutions, LLC management team has over 90 years combined knowledge in government, law enforcement, military, and corporate experience at the local, state and federal government levels. The management team is led by P. Martin Border, President, who has over 20 years experience in the security, law enforcement and military fields in a local, state and federal government setting. He is a former US Army Military Police Officer (Non-Commissioned Officer), Probation/Parole Officer and Corrections Officer (North Carolina Dept. of Corrections), Drug Enforcement Intelligence Analyst and most recently the Vice President of Operations for a leading security firm providing armed contract security for the federal government. In his capacity, as the VP of Operations, he was directly responsible for the management of over 2,700 federally certified armed security officers, 21 armed federal security contracts, over 3.5 million annual service hours, which produced over $128 million in annual revenue. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Fayetteville State University, a Master of Arts degree in Security Management and an MBA from Webster University, and is currently pursuing a PhD in Public Policy and Administration (concentration in Homeland Policy and Coordination) from Walden University. In addition to the above experience and formal education, Martin Border is a certified DCJS General and Firearms instructor.
Mr. Border is supported by Philip Anthony Border, Vice President of Administration, whose federal career spans over 50 years. He is a retired Non-Commissioned Officer of the US Air Force, former budget officer for the Drug Enforcement Administration, and a retired First Secretary (Diplomat) for the US Department of State. He is the Compliance Agent for BSS and is responsible for all administrative, logistical and support tasks for the operations at BSS. Additionally, he ensures that the company and all employees are in compliance with the regulations of the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services, for the tracking of all officer certifications, company licensure and insurance, logistics, and resource management. His prior experience provides him with a unique skill set that will ensure that BSS meets and exceeds all contractual obligations in a timely and efficient manner.
Rounding out the key personnel team of BSS is Lourdes Border, Vice President of Commercial Relations. She is a graduate of American University, BS in International Services, and has earned a Foreign Service Master of Science degree from Georgetown University. Ms. Border has twenty-two years experience in drug law enforcement intelligence. Prior to her assignment in the Office of Investigative Intelligence, Ms. Border served in various positions in the Field, as well as various Headquarters assignments. She started her career in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) on October 26, 1986. Her 22 year career as an Intelligence Analyst as well as Senior DEA Manager allows BSS to provide our clients with state of the art investigative practices, while her extensive managerial experience will ensure that BSS is able to deliver investigative services to our clients in a timely and thorough manner.
Each member of the management team is bilingual in both Spanish and English.
